An Important Note to Scholars and Parents Regarding Testing:

Prep. PSAT testing, the PPSAT, will begin next Wednesday, October 2nd. Please be sure that scholars are well-rested and well-fed and on campus absolutely no later than 7:50 a.m. on Wednesday. Testing will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. (We are going to treat the PPSAT as an authentic practice for the real PSAT exam that will take place on October 16th.)

The testing room assignments for the PPSAT and PSAT have been posted on the wall in the administrative wing of campus near Mrs. Culpepper’s office. Scholars, please note your room assignments today so that you’ll know where to go on Wednesday morning.

Special Announcement: Personal items are not permitted in the testing rooms. All backpacks and electronic devices will be stored outside of scholars’ testing rooms and may not be accessed by scholars until testing has concluded. That said, we highly encourage scholars to leave their cellphones, smart watches, FitBits, headphones, watches with alarms, smart glasses, etc. at home for security purposes. Scholars will only need their class materials for first and second blocks on October 2nd; scholars will only need their class materials for third and fourth blocks on October 16th.

Scholars must bring the following items on test day:
1. No. 2 pencil(s);
2. an eraser; and
3. a College Board permitted calculator to use on the calculator math portion of the exam.

The regularly scheduled exams will take approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes to administer, including pre-administration and breaks, and some testing will take place for the duration of the day. However, this is still a practice exam for the real PSAT, so we are likely to take less time than the PSAT’s planned 3 hours and 50 minutes.

The close alignment between the PSAT/NMSQT and the SAT means that scholars can prepare for the PSAT/NMSQT by accessing the Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy for free, personalized, online practice (satpractice.org). Should you have any questions regarding the information listed above or test day procedures, please contact Mrs. Kate. Her email address is as follows: katherinecochran@haashall.org.

As always, we thank you for your support and for being part of our wonderful community! Go Huskies!
