The awareness for mental illness has increased drastically within the past few decades. People’s struggles are finally validated by the media, and this has been a huge step in helping people get the help they need. However, with the recognition of mental illness has also come a romanticization of the topic. Does this hurt or help people with mental illness?
You’ve probably already heard from the older generations about the human species’ increasing dependence on artificial stimulation instead of interaction with reality. However, perhaps both you and them haven’t considered that it can sometimes be a good thing.
