Calling all eligible scholars, parents, and friends of Haas Hall Academy! Haas Hall Academy Bentonville will be hosting the Bloodmobile once again, and we need as many donors as possible!
Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the exclusive provider of blood for
patients at 44 area healthcare facilities, is announcing an emergency appeal for donors with A or O blood types. Reserves are alarmingly low, with less than a one-day supply available. Eligible donors are asked to give immediately.
Haas Hall Bentonville’s Blood Drive Committee is hosting its last 2021 Spring Blood Drive THIS WEDNESDAY, May 19th, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All faculty, staff, scholars, and family members over the age of 16 are encouraged to donate! (Please note: Prospective donors, who are not yet 17, must have parental permission. (For the consent form, please contact Tyler Mizner, Andrew Schweitzer, Ellis Hanby, Haleena Sharif, Julia Mizner, Taylor Lyle, Jyothika Arunkumar, Isaac Aguero, Pranav Neupane, or Isabella McCleary for a pdf of the consent form.)) Also, in order to donate you must be present with a current photo ID that includes your birth date on it.
Donors that give between now and May 21 will receive a $5.00 gift card redeemable through CBCO’s LifePoints online donor portal. Donors will also receive a T-shirt that marks the wearer as a “locally sourced” lifesaver.
“The current rates between blood donation and blood usage are unsustainable over the long and even short term. We are asking for blood donors to make an extra effort to give, and those who have never given to strongly consider doing so now,” CBCO Media Relations Representative Chris Pilgrim said.
People who have received a COVID-19 vaccination may donate blood with no waiting period.
Donors, please make sure to drink plenty of water the day before you donate and eat a hearty, large breakfast on Wednesday morning. A large breakfast helps to shorten your recovery time!
