Hello, Scholars and Faculty!
Every year the scholars at Haas Hall Bentonville receive tech cards from the Bentonville Public Library. Beta club wants to put our old tech cards to good use! They are the perfect size and thickness for a guitar pick, so we would love to use these unrecyclable cards to help benefit our association with the Himalayan Village Fund Project.
The Himalayan Village Fund Project was founded in 2011 by Milton Burke and a group of teachers in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They created a non-profit dedicated to fostering excellence in education for underprivileged Nepali children. On average, it costs $250 per year to send a child to school in Nepal. Committees in Nepal select children from two villages to receive scholarships from the organization. As of today, the Himalayan Village Fund supports 56 children from two villages. The organization supports each child from preschool to high school, which is a thirteen-year commitment. They hope to provide financial aid for more children in the coming years, and this year, Beta is supporting this great project! For more information, please visit http://himalayanvillagefund.org/.
If you have any tech cards that you have held onto, please kindly donate them to a box that will be placed at the front desk. Beta Club will be collecting these cards until October 1st, so remember to drop them off!
