Haas Hall Mountain Bike Team – informational meeting

Attention Scholar Athletes, Parents, and Coaches:

We are hosting a HHA Mountain Bike Team informational meeting for all HHA scholars and parents/guardians on Tuesday, May 10th from 7pm to 8pm at Park Springs Park Pavilion in Bentonville. This meeting is for ALL new and returning riders, families, coaches and anyone interested in volunteering for the 2022 season. No prior experience necessary.

Our mountain bike team is comprised of boys and girls from all four campuses, 7th through 12th grade. The team is open to everyone regardless of financial ability, and scholarships are available for those who need them.

The Arkansas NICA mountain bike season officially starts on July 1, and we plan to start practices on Tues, July 5th or later that week. We need everyone to attend our information meeting so we can get an idea of how many riders we will have from each HHA campus. This information will help us determine our practice locations and the number of volunteers we need to meet our student-to-coach ratios.

We will provide an overview of our mountain bike team and the NICA League, then discuss the upcoming season: practice dates / times, calendar of races, equipment needs, registration, what to expect at practices and races, NICA registration fees, and team dues, followed by a Q&A.

Please feel free to bring your bike if you are unsure if it’s the right type of bike or the right size for you or your child. Also, one of our sponsors, Bike Shop Joe’s at 1206 SE Moberly Ln in Bentonville, is offering free bike safety checks and minor adjustments (does not include full tune-ups, major repairs or parts), so if you’re interested please get a bike check.

We also need more volunteers to assist with practices and meet the student-to-coach ratios needed for safe, fun, and productive practices. No experience or expertise required, and training will be provided by the NICA League in June for all interested volunteers.
