Would you like to support the Special Olympics Arkansas? ‘”The mission of Special Olympics Arkansas is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.” Special Olympics Arkansas is able to provide free services to individuals with intellectual disabilities because of generous donations and fundraisers. One of their biggest fundraisers is the Polar Plunge, which takes place at multiple locations across Arkansas.
This year HHAB Beta Club is assembling a team of faculty and scholars to take a dive in Beaver Lake on Saturday, February 8, 2020, to show our support for the Special Olympics! We must raise a minimum of $50 for each individual who takes a plunge. If you’re interested in participating or learning more information about the Special Olympics or the Polar Plunge, please come to the informational meeting in Mrs. Kate’s room today, Tuesday, December 3, during lunch.
