Come and meet award winning graphic novelist, Nate Powell! Powell is a native Arkansan and the first cartoonist to win the National Book Award. Activities begin at 12 p.m. with book sales by Barnes & Noble. Nate Powell’s presentation will begin at 1 p.m. in the Walmart Community Room and will be immediately followed by a book signing.

Powell’s work includes the new graphic novel Come Again and civil rights icon John Lewis’ graphic memoir trilogy March, as well as Rick Riordan’s graphic novel edition of The Lost Hero. Powell’s work has received a Robert F. Kennedy Book Award, three Eisner Awards, the Michael L. Printz Award, four YALSA Great Graphic Novels for Teens selections, the Walter Dean Myers Award, and is a two-time finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.

This is a free program, and recommended for tweens, teens and adults. Registration is not required, but space is limited
