Optimist International Essay Contest

The Optimist Club of Rogers is participating in the annual Optimist International Essay Contest. Any Benton County student under the age of 19 as of October 1, 2020 is eligible for this contest. The Rogers club will offer cash awards for the top three essays ranging from $100 to $250 and the winner’s essay will be forwarded to a district contest with a chance of winning a $2,500 scholarship.

The topic for this year’s essay is “Is Optimism the Key to Achieving the Dreams you iMagine?”

All entries with a completed application form must be submitted to Sandy Lasater, the contest chair, at Sandy.Lasater@crossmark.com or mailed to PO Box 1244, Rogers, AR 72757 and received by the February 15 deadline.

Essays will be judged by a panel of 3 judges with the local winners announced by February 29, 2020. The district contest winner will be announced by May 1.
