Philosophers, due to AP testing and our upcoming ACT Aspire testing, we’ll put our philosophical texts aside this week and next in favor of discussing the philosophical aspects of language and communication. We shall consider questions such as the following: “Does giving a name to something give us clarity and depth of understanding? Can the act of attributing a name cause confusion? Can names and words be misleading?” Scholar S. Roberts will be ready to discuss words from other languages like the Turk’s “Hazan” and the Norwegian’s “Forelskat.”
Our meeting will return to its regular time, which will be this Friday during lunch in room 113.
As always, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Kate (firstname.lastname@example.org). I look forward to our discussion and our lunchtime meeting.
