We are happy to introduce the starting of the PPYC (Project Prevent Youth Coalition) Chapter on the Haas Hall Fayetteville campus. This student organization is a youth tobacco prevention initiative of the Stamp Out Smoking campaign. Built around fostering a safe space to discuss substance abuse among teens, the primary initiative of this student organization is to expose the truth about Big Tobacco and arming today’s youth with the tools and power to choose a tobacco-free life. Participation in this club allows you to build your academic resume and be a part of a bigger movement to improve the health of teens in Northwest Arkansas. This program is coordinated through Arkansas Children’s and partially funded through the Arkansas Department of Health. Join us this Friday, November 1, at 2:30 p.m. in Dr. Binns’ room for the inaugural meeting. We will have snacks and exciting information on opportunities to come for community and campus involvement.
