The Bentonville Rotary will be hosting a Four-Way Test Speech Contest at Haas Hall. The Four-Way Test Speech Contest teaches youth the principles of the Four-Way Test and assists them in furthering their education and future with monetary awards. First-place prize receives top honors and a $1,000 reward, and each runner-up receives $350 from the Rotary Club of District 6110.
The Four-Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
The purpose of the Four-Way Test Speech Contest is to foster these principles of ethics in everyday life.
Contestants will present their speech in front of a panel of judges to narrow down the top 4 students. They will go on to compete in January at the Bentonville Rotary meeting.
The Bentonville Rotary will judge the 4 Haas Hall contestants and the top speaker will be submitted to Rotary District 6110 semi-finals.
The District will select 4 students who will have the opportunity to present their speech at the District Assembly in April 2020. First-place prize receives top honors and a $1,000 reward, and each runner-up receives $350 from the Rotary Club of District 6110.
