State Coding Competition Coming Up!

Mr. Johnson is calling all coders!!

This February 14th is the deadline to sign up for the 2019-2020 Arkansas’s All-Region and All-State Coding Competition. The competition will take place February 28th at the educational co-op in Farmington.

The competition is open to Arkansas public, private, and homeschooled students in grades 8-12. Each team consists of three scholars. See the link below for additional details.

Last year HHAB placed 17th out of 118 teams that competed at the regionals. State only takes the top 16 teams so we missed out by just a smidge!! This year it would be great to field one or two teams capable of competing. Please see or contact Mr. Johnson if you are interested. Both JAVA and Python can be used in the competition. You will be given 6 common programming challenges to solve, and you will have three hours to complete them. High scores based on logic and completeness will determine the winners.

The winning team at State brings home $10,000 to their school, and a year long of props!
