Update: The Eco-Friendly Way to Learn Chinese Painting & Calligraphy

UPDATE: Great news: we are very close to being fully funded! Thank you to all of you who donated. If you haven’t but are considering, there’s also good news: starting at 7am ET on January 23rd, donations to every project at DonorChoose.org requesting materials for music and the arts will be matched for one day. This would double your donation and place us on fast track to becoming fully funded! Thank you again for your support to the arts!

Dear Haas Hall Community,
Scholars from both our Mandarin and art classes love the experience of learning traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy, art forms known for promoting mind-body harmony. Yet not only are the ink and paper used for practicing these art forms expensive and wasteful, but the setting and cleaning-up steps involved are super messy and time-consuming. Fortunately, inventions such as Buddha Boards and reusable calligraphy practicing cloth provide a solution to these problems. That is why we are reaching out to you so that you could support our fundraising effort to purchase these materials through DonorChoose.org. Our goal is to become fully funded by the February 20, 2020 deadline. With the help of many of you, we have already reached more than 50% of our goal. To help make our project come true, we hope you will consider supporting us by making a tax deductible donation at https://www.donorschoose.org/project/the-eco-friendly-way-to-learn-chinese-pa/4575484/

You will also find detailed descriptions of the material and the project at this website. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Chen at linchen@haashall.org

We are grateful for your continued support to our school and our scholars!
