We the Students is an annual essay contest sponsored by the Bill of Rights Institute. Students in grades 8-12 (ages 14-19) are eligible to participate. Student prizes are awarded to 1st Place ($5,000 and a scholarship to Constitutional Academy), Runners Up (six prizes at $1,250 each), and Honorable Mentions (eight prizes at $500 each).
Essays must be 500-800 words and address the prompt – “What are essential qualities of a citizen in your community in 21st century America?”
