The Young Democrats Club will be assembling ribbons during lunch and after school on Thursday, November 14, and Friday, November 15 in Nurse Shelly’s room. Anyone and everyone, who would like to support our cause, is welcome to join us to make the ribbons.
We will sell the ribbons next week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The funds raised from the ribbons will be donated to the Transgender Law Center. TLC “is the largest national trans-led organization advocating self-determination for all people. Grounded in legal expertise and committed to racial justice, TLC employs a variety of community-driven strategies to keep transgender and gender nonconforming people alive, thriving, and fighting for liberation.” For more information about TLC, visit their website: https://transgenderlawcenter.org/.
Finally on Wednesday, November 20, in honor of Transgender Remembrance Day, which honors those who were abused and died for identifying their gender and being proud to be transgender, we are asking you to wear blue, pink, or white shirts or sweaters for $2. We encourage you to wear these shirts or sweaters and our ribbons to honor those who have passed fighting to be who they are.
