On July 6, 2018, Zachary Couture, a student at Haas Hall Academy Bentonville, was diagnosed with very severe aplastic anemia after an emergency helicopter ride to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock July 2.
Aplastic anemia is a rare blood disease that causes your bone marrow to stop producing new blood cells. Zach has received a bone marrow transplant-the only true cure- at the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. He has been at Texas Children’s with his mom since February 11.
Due to medical care rendered and the time spent away from home, Zach and his family could use our support during this time. One way to do so is by ordering from the #zacharystrong fundraiser. Tumbler cups, short sleeve t-shirts, and a quarter-zip are for sale. This particular campaign is geared toward Haas scholars, as you can wear your t-shirts on Fridays. Proceeds from this fundraiser will go to the Couture family and a team tent for the Haas Hall Mountain bike team.
The link to the campaign is as follows: https://www.customink.com/fundraising/zacharystrong-fight-against-aplastic-anemia. The fundraiser will end on November 29th at 11 pm.
All products will be distributed roughly two weeks after the campaign ends. Therefore, if you order during the first couple of days, it will take approximately four weeks before you receive your order.
If you would like to learn more about Zach’s story, you can read about his journey on the fundraiser page. You can find updates on his wellbeing on Facebook (Jackie Wagner Couture).
Please spread the word! Use #zacharystrong for any social media posts! The Couture family appreciates your support! Thank you!
